It’s not all about bed rest.
Life at the butterfly estate has been a relaxing one. Shinobu’s subordinates know how to properly treat their guests. Unfortunately, part of their regiment also included rehabilitation. As each wounded slayer healed up, they were expected to get back into shape. Naturally, Tanjirou and Inosuke were first to experience this hell. Matters did change slightly once Zenitsu joined in, yet there was one problem. Among all the butterfly girls, they were never able to best Kanao Tsuyuri. They may be all in the same graduating class, but she’s far above them in training. Inosuke and Zenitsu eventually gave in, although Tanjirou never quit. After finding out why she was leagues above them, Tanjirou’s training went into overdrive. If he wanted to get close to Kanao or any of the Pillars, then he needed to perfect his concentrated breathing around the clock. Not even sleep was an excuse to stop. It’s going to be a painful few weeks, although it will be well worth it in the end.
Tanjirou’s training may be on-going, but that doesn’t mean that’s the only thing happening. Before the credits rolled out, we learned why Shinobu allowed the estranged siblings into her home. The way Tanjirou views demon is similar to her departed older sister. Unfortunately, Shinobu was never able to carry that piece of her sister forward. What the demons had done to her sister and all those around her, shaped her to the core. Nonetheless, she’s placed hope into Tanjirou. Hope that he’ll carry a fragment of her sister forward, and change future views on demons. Additionally, the opening scene established the road into the next arc. It might not be clear yet, but don’t forget the Flame Pillar’s face. Anyhow, ready to work that body? Enjoy your stay at the butterfly estate!
Our training session has only just begun. We’ve got more to do next week!
