Time to rewind it back.
But first, let’s make a trade! Chise’s life is now in the hands of, Cartaphilus. Both of them have a curse of equal standing and have something to gain from one another. By exchanging a piece of themselves to the other they can take on the others curse. It’s time for an eye for an eye. Still, Cartaphilus, isn’t going to make this a simple exchange. He hasn’t forgotten their last encounter. While he attempts to take Chise’s arm he puts her into a dark slumber. Ready to remember the good and the bad times?
All right, the majority of this episode finally reveals Chise’s dark past. Not just those small glimpses we’ve been shown previously. We begin with the happy times when Chise still had her mother, father and little brother. They were a family in every sense of the word, yet troubles were always around the corner. Chise’s father knew what he was getting into, but as time flies it can take a toil on anyone. Money being tight and having to deal with the Fae world ended up being too much for him. In the dead of the night he runs away with his infant son never to return. Leaving behind Chise ultimately doomed her. A single mother can only do so much before it all comes crashing down. Pushed to the brink she attempts to kill, Chise. Fortunately, in the end she takes her own life and let’s her daughter live on.
So, what do we yield out of all this? Well, after the attempt on Chise’s life by her own mother she created a false image of her. Chise, could only remember the bad and not the good. Now, that is not longer the case. The good times Chise had with her mother will now push her forward. Moreover, she’s also ready to accept her new curse or blessing. Before accepting this new blessing, she ask what does it wish for? But, we’ll hold off on that until next time. Lots of good stuff this episode, and the media is just waiting to be viewed. Enjoy!
