One can never have enough Elaina.
If you’ve kept up with all the adventures thus far, then this finale will look very familiar. Still, this isn’t a normal revisit. While one may claim this to be all just a dream, Elaina got to interact with several sides of herself. Between the good, the bad, and everything in between, there’s a lot of Elaina to capture during this one. Nevertheless, there’s only one true Elaina at the end of the day. She’s the one that makes even the sun glare with jealousy.
Story: 8/10
For an episodic fantasy adventure each chapter held its own quite well. While some were more notable than others, a few held significant impact. One of the impressive parts about Elaina’s story is they didn’t shy away from showing how brutal her world is. At the same time, there were moments that displayed how beautiful life as a traveler could be. It can be rough out there, but it doesn’t have to be all bad.
Art/Animation: 9/10
Episode one of this show is a crowning example of how to hook in a viewer. Not only was it beautifully animated, it was engaging from start to finish. Even after coming off the hype of episode one, nearly every episode held a quality most shows can’t ever achieve. You’re not going to find any frames of Elaina looking dreadful. She truly had a reason to be boastful till the very end.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I honestly love Elaina’s character. She’s a breath of fresh air compared to the plethora of protagonists anime pumps out. Elaina is not your waifu or a hero, she’s simply being true to herself. If that means hurting some feelings, then so be it. They’re all just simply jealous of her beauty.
All right, I’ll be letting this one go with a solid 9. C2C did an overall phenomenal job considering today’s circumstances. Moreover, I wouldn’t hold my breath for more Elaina anytime soon. The way they ended the show suggests they want you to read the source material. Though there’s always a chance for more. Anyhow, it’s truly all about Elaina this round. Enjoy seeing the many different shades of Elaina!
