You’ve been paying attention, right?
Similar to another show I’ve covered in the past, one must pay attention to the little details. If you thought Elaina was a hero, well she’s not. She’s simply a traveler and she makes sure to state that several times. On top of that, remember this is a fantasy setting. Earthly views aren’t going to mesh well with this story. In any case, it’s time for two short stories. Enjoy not looking back!

As I stated before, I love when anime carries some kind of morale message and this episode carried two really important messages. I like how they were portrayed and pretty much it was made clear that Elaina isn’t indeed any kind of hero but rather a lonesome wanderer.
For me, I enjoyed these two stories because they reminded me of classic fairy tales. A lot of the stories we get these days are just way too happy or convenient. However, these stories displayed a grim reality that anyone could face. I look forward to what other tales Elaina will tell us!
