They’re going public!
A few weeks have come and gone since the assault on the Ocean Turtle. During that time, Alice was introduced to the real world and given an android body. However, what occurred upon the Ocean Turtle drew far too much attention. In order to secure Underworld for the time being, and keep Alice safe, Rath went public. They’ve revealed the world’s first autonomous artificial intelligence. They now hope to create a world where humans and AIs may coexist, though feelings are already mixed after their press conference. Additionally, on paper Kikuoka is officially dead. Someone had to take the blame after what took place. Still, Kikuoka isn’t done watching over the Underworld. He plans to do everything in his power to keep it running. Moreover, the day Alice was revealed to the world was also the day Asuna and Kirito awoke. After more than 200 years within the Underworld, the Star King and Queen are now back in the flesh. Before Kirito ordered Higa to erase their memories of the last 200 years, he had good news for Alice. Even though she should be no more, Selka still lives frozen in ice.
The fate of Alice and the Underworld is now up in the air. At any minute, the Japanese government could pull the plug on the Ocean Turtle. Kirito was made well aware of this fact, though Kikuoka already has somewhat of a plan. While it’s only just a hope at the moment, their world needs to change if beings like Alice are to exist. In order to do this, they must first reestablish a satellite connection to the Ocean Turtle. The further public opinion is swayed in their favor, the easier it will be to save the Underworld. Meanwhile, Higa was able to sneak out a copy of Kirito’s 200 years of memories. Star King Kirito still lives, and he foresaw this possibility. After hearing what may happen to the world he swore to protect, he enlisted Higa’s help. Their current goal is to find the whereabouts of Kayaba. If Kayaba is still able to hold so much sway, then the Star King in theory should be able to protect his people without human hands. Now, Higa is fully aware of the path he’s about to travel down. Star King Kirito also made it clear that he only plans to protect his people, yet Higa can’t help himself. What lies ahead is just far too exciting. Anyhow, Alice is beginning to feel uneasy. Enjoy one more before the finale!

I’m glad to see you stayed faithful to Rinko till the end.
Seems like we’re getting a nice happy ending for Kirito and Asuna. I want to rub Asuna’s feet.
We’ll get a conclusion for sure, but I doubt this will be an ending. Season 4 is practically guaranteed with the amount of loose ends we’re getting now. Let’s just hope our lead can pull himself back together for the finale.
