Can anyone resist her?
It’s no secret that those within Katarina’s circle are completely infatuated with her. However, it’s not just her friends that have gained her admiration. While Katarina and the girls celebrated passage into the next grade, her personal maid, Anne Shelley, reminisced about how much her life has changed because of Katarina. Born to a baron who only saw her as a future political tool, and a mother who taught her to be submissive to her father’s whims, she convinced herself that this was the best life had to offer. Unfortunately, this so-called happy life of hers turned upside down one day. A fire claimed her mother’s life and scarred her body. No longer of any use to her father, Anne was tossed out as damaged goods. Fortunately, she was able to find refuge within the Claes manor. Taken in as a maid for Katarina, she believed living life as a simple tool would be her end game. Despite her grim prospects for the future, everything changed when Katarina regained her memories. Through Katarina’s actions, she gained a sense of self. Even when her father came back to use her, Anne was no longer the child he used to remember. Her place for now and for the foreseeable future shall be beside Katarina.
This week’s episode may have been a tad different, but it was still just as great. More world building in anime is always appreciated here. Aside from Anne’s backstory, there’s doom within viewing distance. The group of bullies who previously targeted Maria have confronted Katarina. They plan to expose her evil deeds, though we’re left on the edge for now. Anyhow, ready for the slumber party? Enjoy the girl talk!
Doom is finally back on the menu! Join us for the first step of it next Saturday.
