Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T T.V. Media Review Episode 13

by Yumiko

There’s always another trick.

Upon realizing how Mitori continues to conceal herself, Uiharu put her unparalleled hacking skills to use. All the visual information being fed to Mitori has been distorted. Believing she had slain Kuroko, Mitori shifted her focus back onto Misaka. Unfortunately for Mitori, this gave Kuroko just enough time to track her down. With no where left to run, and her liquid shadow still above ground, Kuroko finally put an end to their game of cat and mouse. Meanwhile, Gensei seemingly stood triumphant. Exterior’s limiter release code was within his grasp, or so he thought. Believing she would lose her battle against Gensei, Misaki used Mental Out upon herself. Swapping the release code and the self-destruct code did just the trick. Still, even with destroying her extra baggage and eliminating Gensei from the battle, Misaka has grown far too unstable. While she’s regained some of her senses with Exterior’s destruction, she can not control her powers. Fortunately, there’s a single boy before her that can defy all odds. Within his right arm lies the key to ending this nightmare.

We’re finally back with more Railgun… and it’s back on break again. As I’m sure many of you have noticed, Railgun has taken quite the beating due to the current global crisis. More than a third of this episode was recapping previous events. What little new content we got was, well not that great. This show has never been animation heavy, but we’re heading into deep slideshow territory. Although it hurts to see such a strong title in this place, the climax of this arc is right around the corner. It’s all or nothing on Touma when the broadcast resumes. Anyhow, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. Enjoy betting it all on a loss!

I’m quite surprised they kept this in. For a single moment, they’ve turned off the magic skirt physics. Also, this is canon to the source material. Previous episodes should have had similar shots, but they’ve cut out a lot of it.

For a single pan, they drew it correctly!

Also of note, they’ve turned down the lights on Misaka’s bum. The true test will be next episode, though.
