Toaru Kagaku no Railgun T T.V. Media Review Episode 1

by Yumiko

Are they all walking disasters?

A sports festival without equivalent is about to take place within Academy City. Broadcasted across the global, the higher ups of Academy City wish to make a statement. Before the festivities begin, a committee has been gathered to display their finest. This means at least recruiting two of the seven level 5’s for the opening ceremony. However, this task is easier said than done. One of the seven is unreachable, and half of the remaining pool want nothing to do with the Daihasei Festival. Among those who remained, Misaka appeared to be a promising candidate. Nonetheless, the Railgun only knows how to attract trouble to herself. Instead her fellow classmate and rival, Misaki, shall take her place. Accompany her will be, Sogiita Gunha, a young man that can never refuse to turn down anyone’s call for help. Securing these two was troublesome to say the least, though the committee fears what could come next. There’s no predicting the end results when working with level 5’s.

Episode 1 was for the most part a refresher. Season two was all the way back in 2013, so if you’ve forgotten some characters, then they were each given their own little segment here. There’s actually a lot of flexing going on, but that comes with the title of Level Five. Moreover, among the two picked to open the Daihasei Festival, an eye should be kept on Misaki. Her rivalry with Misaka has pushed her down a darker path. Furthermore, this sports festival is a week long and all schools will be participating. That means several of the characters we’ve to come know shall show up throughout the arc. Anyhow, a week long festival is just around the corner. Enjoy partnering up with Kongou!

OP:

Episode 1:

J.C. Staff has made outfit changes to this universe before, but this one was a rather interesting change to say the least. I won’t get into the specifics, but simply googling, “ Sogiita Gunha” will show you what his shirt should have been.

The wind sure is unkind. We’ve seen Saten in a bikini and butt naked, though this is a line we can not cross!
