Akatsuki no Yona Blu-ray Media Review Episode 11

by Yumiko

Now where could he be?

Ki-ja may have the ability to sense the other Dragon Warriors, but that doesn’t mean he can pinpoint their locations. Among the three left to be found, the blue dragon warrior is the closest. But before they can get their search going, a sudden bandit attack occurs. An opportunity for Ki-ja and Hak to work together had finally presented itself, though there are limits. Whether one is human or dragon, the body can only take so much. Still, through their banter they gain a mutual respect for one another. If nothing else, their desire to protect Yona is at an all time high. Moreover, Ki-ja has learned firsthand what kind of journey he’s embarked on. His pampered days are over, yet that’s the least of his worries. His inability to quickly find the other Dragons Warriors has begun to dig at him. Those around him are putting in their all, but all he can do is point vaguely in the correct direction. Nonetheless, Yona reassured him of his value. Without him, they wouldn’t even have a starting point. Fortunately, the search is nearly at an end. The final possible location had Ki-ja pointing right at the border.

Episode 11 is for the most part building up Ki-ja’s character. We got to see him flex his ability in combat, his first night outdoors, and how he handles frustration. He’s more than just a pretty face, you know. Furthermore, we’ve learned Yona is truly determined to getting more involved in combat. While she only played a minor role during the bandit attack, she’s been prancing non-stop every night. Her determination to grow was even recognized by her two current guardians. Anyhow, the blue dragon warrior can’t hide forever. Enjoy searching from top to bottom!
