Boogiepop wa Warawanai T.V. Media Review Episode 9

by Yumiko

The chase is over!

All eyes are upon Paisley Park. It is here where Jin plans to sacrifice Orihata to begin his ideal world. Her seed will only influence their city, but her death will give birth to so many more. Unfortunately, there are a number of problems with Jin’s plan. Once confronted by Boogiepop, everything comes to light. Using Orihata to bring about the snow was never going to work. Jin did not consider the possibly that another abnormality was out there. Orihata’s status as a synthetic human makes her unusable in his plan. Additionally, forcing this snow of his in April was a fool’s dream. The warmth that comes along with Spring would of quickly canceled out his influence. Everything Jin had worked so hard for came crashing down, though he was no enemy to Boogiepop. Boogiepop’s arrival here was to see Imaginator off. Imaginator has admitted her defeat in this chase. There is no future left for her, thus her fall may finally be completed.

Nothing ever goes truly according to plan. In the end, Boogiepop didn’t really have to do a lot to stop Imaginator. Imaginator had potential to break through, though her plan with Jin wasn’t too well thought out. Jin really overestimated his power in this gamble. Moreover, the real winners in this arc have to be Masaki and Orihata. These two have a romance going on that is otherworldly. One is not quite human, and the other is a fool way over his head. Nevertheless, it would seem they will both have a happy ending. Let’s just hope the Towa Organization truly is done with Orihata. Anyhow, we begin anew next time. Enjoy the whiplash!
