Yakusoku no Neverland T.V. Media Review Episode 2

by Yumiko

Game on!

Mama knows something is up, and she’s not afraid to show it. Her precious cattle won’t be getting away. However, Mama’s intimidation tactics won’t deter Emma and Norman. Their lives are slowly ticking away every moment they stay within her grasp. Two months is what they have figured to be their end date. Within that time frame, Emma plans to escape with everyone. She will not allow anymore of her family members to be eaten. Unfortunately, there’s a number of issues with her plan. Beyond the initial wall they are forbidden from going near, a much larger wall boxes them in. Supplies from their home can help them over this wall, though the scale of this operation just got a lot larger. They will need another of set of hands to pull this all together. Fortunately, Ray was right around the corner. He’s quickly accepted the reality of the situation, although he doesn’t agree with the plan going forward. Escaping with 37 children and most of them being under the age of 6 will be impossible. Now, Emma refuses to leave anyone behind. This is a all or none operation, well at least for now. Planning time has been interrupted with a sudden announcement. A new family member and adult has entered the house.

Quite a bit has taken place in this episode, but we’ve gotta go fast. There isn’t much time for the top three at Grace Field. Once they turn 12 their brains will be ready for harvesting. Additionally, their plans will have to morph over the weeks. Today we were introduced to several new obstacles, and there are many more to come. Escaping is only the beginning of this plan. Beyond that wall lies a society filled with demons and much more. Moreover, I have to say the anime has done an excellent job of capturing the source materials style. It can look a tad odd at times, but that’s Neverland for you. Anyhow, ready to fake those smiles? Enjoy today’s meal!
