Ulysses: Jeanne d’Arc to Renkin no Kishi T.V. Media Review Episode 8

Sword sold separately!

In order to get this war effort back on track, we’ve gotta find Escalibor! Well, not quite. Escalibor’s Scabbard is all they’ll need. This legendary scabbard was hidden away by Astaroth many years ago. Remembering where she hid it was a bit troublesome, though. Those long years just might be getting to her. Still, she’s not the only one after the scabbard. England’s army has secretly invaded Brittany to obtain the scabbard, as well. Fortunately, Astaroth’s group is able to obtain it before their main forces arrived. Escaping on the other hand will be quite the challenge, although we have one knight willing to buy some time. Alençon’s long awaited moment has arrived, yet he will not fall today. Richemont has returned, and with her own personal army.

Ready to live up to that promise? The troops have been secured by Montmorency, and Astaroth has found the scabbard. Unfortunately, there will be two more bumps in the road. La Trémoille can no longer stand to watch his cousin become the savior of France. He has hired a private army to put an end to him. However, a clash between these two won’t be happening today. Richemont has finally returned to the front lines. Your scheming days have come to an end, La Trémoille. Regardless, there’s another army waiting for Montmorency. England’s main force has surrounded the fortress containing Jeanne’s body. Breaking through to awaken France’s last remaining hope will complete this long journey. He promised to forever remain by her side, and he will. Jeanne smiles once more!

The white Ulysses is ready for action, but what about the other? Philip has also returned back to life. Using the power of the Holy Grail has restored her, and not a moment too soon. A decisive battle is about to take place between these two. Yet, we’ll have to wait a tad longer for those results. Episode 9 has been delayed by a week. I’m sure this has been painfully obvious for a number of weeks now, but this production has been hard to look at from every angle. A week off will not save this show, nevertheless I hope it helps. Anyhow, it’s time to break the line. Enjoy the young maiden’s smile!

Jeanne is going to need a little extra time to recover. This war shall resume upon December 13th, well at least here!

Btw, do you know that the producers of Ulysses Jeanne d’Arc also did for Nobunaga the fool before? No wonder some of their characters are so similar. Hopefully they can make some efforts to make this show more enjoyable.

I was unfamiliar with that fact. Also, I’ve only seen one episode of Nobunaga the Fool, but from what I remember it had some outrageous designs. Regardless, we’re probably either getting an incomplete end, or something anime original. They do not have time to adapt the remainder of the source material. I’m predicting this will end around Charlotte getting her true queen status.

I agree with you. It will probably be like that as there’s nothing much they can do with the remaining 4 episodes. XD As the episodes progress so far, i was a bit dissapointed that they are not able to make use of the great character designs to create more fanservice. It was basically a bad decision to make this show to look very much like history because we all expects something different and interesting from it. (T_T)
