Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken T.V. Media Review Episode 1

by Yumiko

What a way to go.

It was a perfectly normal day, then it happened so suddenly. Satoru found himself on the wrong side of a knife. Protecting his friend came at the ultimate cost, but this end will birth a new beginning. While Satoru’s life bled out he was being reborn into another world. Reborn into a body where he would no longer feel pain or suffering, and retain his wizardry status. A slime’s body is what Satoru awoke to, though it wasn’t all bad. This new body of his has quite the hidden potential. We’re starting off at the bottom of the food chain and we’ll only be going up from here. However, first let’s make a friend. Finding his way around has led Satoru to a legendary figure. One of 4 true dragons in this world, Storm Dragon Veldora, has been imprisoned for over 300 years. As such, the sight of a lowly yet intelligent slime delights him. Not having company in so many years can really hurt the soul. Thus, an unlikely relationship between the strongest and weakest has begun.

Episode 1 may be on the slow side, but worry not. We’re in for one massive power creep as the episodes roll out. The name Satoru will be a thing of the past starting next time. Once his true name is engraved on his soul the fun shall begin. Moreover, I did not originally plan to pick up this show for reviews. The third season of Index were in my plans, however due to its uncertain status for the English audience, I can not afford to fall any further behind. Now, that doesn’t mean this is a 2nd round pick. I’ve spent the last 3 night reading Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken, and I have to say I’m impressed with everything about it so far. Yes, it’s going to be another overpowered MC, yet it will be exciting. Being reincarnated into the lowest monster is only the beginning of this epic journey. Anyhow, remember to equip your stab resistance. Enjoy the new slife!

This beginning sequence will be important later on. So, keep it in mind.

His final words were to destroy his hard drive.

I honestly can’t believe the cords reached all the way to the tub. The absolute mad man.

Yeah, don’t try this at home.

I wasn’t very sure about this show when you told me about it, but it has grown on me greatly. I look forward to viewing and covering episodes in the future.

Glad that you’re liking it too. It is true anime with isekai theme is already too generic where there can be all kinds of things in there. I don’t know whether there even be Darth Vader in the the isekai world in the future or not. XD Hopefully the production studio can handle well with this show. (^^)/

8bit never failed to keep me entertained with the whole Grisaia series. They did great work on that one, and I’m hoping for the same here, too.
