Fate/Extra Last Encore T.V. Media Review Episode 6

by Yumiko

It was all a dream…

Our trio is ready to take down the third floor, but from the get go something just isn’t right. Exploration of this floor is a long, yet timeless journey. Hakuno is first to experience this phenomenon. What was only a moment felt like hours to him. During that time he meets, Alice. She’s a cyber-ghost and a former Master. Alice died long ago, although she still holds onto a wish. She wishes to one day be cured of her sickness. Moreover, Alice, may appear to be a cute loving good girl, but she does have a secret. Before the two depart she gives Hakuno a warning. There’s a monster in the castle.

Moving forward Hakuno and Rin experience a vision dealing with, Amari. Amari’s got a sad tale to tell, however for now the focus should be on, Alice. In particular, Rin, has already dealt with this floor. The third floor is where many Masters fled for the lower levels. This is all due to the monster in the castle. This isn’t an ordinary monster, though. The monster that our trio face during this episode is actually the servant, Nursery Rhyme. This is a servant without any true form and comes with a very powerful Noble Phantasm. Once it is defeated it can turn back time, thus repeating the day over and over. Although, the outcome will be different each time someone faces this monster. Quite the scary ability, but if Hakuno is to rise to the next floor he must find a way to deal with this monster.

So, visually this episode is pretty much a page ripped out of, Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica. If you haven’t seen that anime I do highly recommend it. Anyhow, it was certainly interesting to see it mixed in with a Fate show. If you’re not familiar with the style just give it a chance. It may seem strange at first, but it does make this floor quite unique in its scenery. Furthermore, the media beckons. Enjoy Alice in Wonderland!

Yeah, I miss this show. I’m a big fan of Shaft’s art in general, so I can’t wait for the last 3 episodes to be released. Hopefully the wait will of been worth it.
